History

In the same spirit as the early pioneers, Anthony’s father Joe Cheffings arrived in Kenya in 1952 as a 17 year old, looking for a new land with fresh promise. After several years farming coffee, he became involved with wildlife and tourism. Joe led professional hunting safaris for a number of years before moving to photographic and adventure safaris, but without losing the flavor of the traditional hunting atmosphere.

Anthony learned much from his father in these years growing up in this environment, through the 1970’s and ‘80’s. After graduating from University in Canada, Anthony returned home to Kenya to join his father in the African safari life. It is this tradition that you will experience today.

Luxury safari camps and highly personalized experiences are all reminiscent of previous glories. We seek out remote and beautiful places. Now with more than 30 years experience travelling throughout Africa, Anthony loves to share his experiences with other people.

Anthony is qualified at the very highest level available in Kenya. As a ‘Gold’ level member of the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association (KPSGA), he is one of a very select group of guides in Kenya. Anthony now sits on the examination board of the KPSGA which is devoted to raising the standards of all guides in Kenya. The quality of your experience and comfort are an essential foundation of these Safaris.
