It
has indeed been an interesting year up to now.
Early in the year I provided the setup and catering
for a couple of interesting events. There was a 70th
Birthday celebrated on the banks of the Tiva River in
Tsavo National Park. There was a large gathering of
rowdy supporters that needed looking after! There was
also a wedding in the bush on Solio Ranch that was arranged.
This was complete with all the trimmings - 1st class
accommodation, mountains of flowers, live band and all
the rest of it. The weather did not help much as it
bucketed with rain. A good omen for the happy couple

We
got educational a bit later. 15 under grad students
from Michigan State University spent 3 weeks in the
Mara studying Mammal Behavior. The valleys and plains
of the Mara were our field laboratories and the Mess
Tent our classroom. In addition to the lecturers who
accompanied the group from Michigan, there were also
visiting lecturers from on going research programs in
the Mara. Hands on experience was gained by the students
